A few notes about this one...
Whether you play the game in "SD" or "HD" then there will be some audio breakup issues at certain points in the time table/ score screens of the game but not during gameplay itself, so with that said then as this game benefits from the sharper more detailed gfx of "HD Mode" then you are as well playing this one in "HD"...
You can play every track in the game as smooth as on the original hardware with the exception of one track, which is the "Kalimari Dessert" track as seen/ heard in the video, the only issue it suffers from is that when the train is on the screen and if there are other cars about at that point then there will be some audio break up occurring...
The only other places you will hear some audio break up are on some of the time/ score screens at the end of a race but throughout the races themselves then the audio is just fine with the exception of that one track... The only other slight glitch that happens in this game when playing in "HD" mode is that on the character select screen and the wining end screen a thin black vertical line is drawn right through the middle of each characters face, can't find a way to resolve this though but it's no biggee I suppose !!!
This slight audio break up happens whether you play in "SD" or "HD" more so you might as well play it in "HD" mode and have slightly better gfx...
