Personally C8 errors are not something I ever see on a SNES Mini since I discovered a couple of years ago how to make sure they never happen...
There are two main different ways of using/ setting up your SNES Mini and both ways result in just how many games you can have safely displayed at a time that will enable you to completely avoid getting C8 errors...
The first way is no doubt the most common method used by people on their SNES Mini where they use "Save States" and have those tiny wee thumbnails displayed under the games main launch icons...
When using that method then most people will tell you not to put any more than around 30 games/ items per folder in order to avoid C8 errors (I can't verify that though as it's not the method I use) but it seems to be the general consensus that sticking to around a maximum of 30 games per folder will help ensure you avoid C8 errors...
The second method (the one which I use) will allow you to safely have up to 60 games per folder and never see a C8 error...
That method involves using the "No Thumbnails" hmod which gets rid of those tiny and to me pointless thumbnails under the games main launch icons and I never use "Save States" whatsoever. This method allows me as said to have around 60 games per folder and never see a C8 error...
One surefire way to cause C8 errors using either method is...
If you have less than 4 game icons/ folders on display at a time, then you can be sure you WILL begin to see a lot of random C8 errors occur...
For example, lets say you have a folder called "Amiga" for you Amiga games collection you have added inside that folder separate folders folders labeled "A to Z" in which you alphabetically place all your games...
If in one of those folders you only have 1 to 3 games in that folder and you go into that folder then you WILL run into a C8 error either when you try to come out of that folder or just shortly afterwards when navigating around your set up...
Basically ALWAYS make sure inside any folder there are at least FOUR game icons or combination of 4 game icons and folders. Anything less than 4 icons on display (that's not including the "back/ return" icon which basically makes the total up to 5) is a surefire way for C8 errors starting to appear...
Stick to those rules of thumb depending on how you set up your Mini and C8 errors will be a thing of the past for you... :-)
